On October 1, 2020, Chinese Consulate General in Penang held an online reception to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei and Chief Minister of Penang Mr. Chow Kon Yeow attended the reception and delivered speeches. China and Malaysia have realized solid progress in the economic, trade, investment cooperation. Facing the challenges of the pandemic, China and Malaysia have worked closely together and sincerely helped each other to overcome difficulties. The two sides donated anti-epidemic supplies to each other, and conducted in-depth cooperation in areas such as vaccine cooperation. The pandemic has not stopped the local exchanges between China and Malaysia. We actively explore new forms and new ways to promote exchanges and cooperation between Heilongjiang Province and Penang state, Guangzhou city and Penang Island, Chengdu city and the consular district so as to make new achievements in local exchanges and cooperation.
