On June 15, 2021, Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei published a signed article titled “Understand the Great Changes in One Hundred Years Through Poverty Alleviation” in Malaysian media Sin Chew Daily, introducing the poverty alleviation experience of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in uniting and leading the people to eradicate poverty and backwardness, and in pursuing a better life.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). China has achieved final victory in the fight against extreme poverty, China has made historical achievements in solving the problem of poverty that has plagued the Chinese nation for thousands of years, and has created miracle in the history of human poverty reduction, laying a solid foundation for the realization of the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
The reasons for China’s success in poverty alleviation include: the CPC’s people-centered philosophy, the systematic advantage of pooling all resources to create synergy, the wisdom of practicing the Strategy of Targeted Poverty Alleviation, and encouraging the impoverished people to improve their living conditions through their own efforts. Removing the label of extreme poverty is not the end, but the beginning of a new journey. China will continue to consolidate the results of poverty elimination and fully implement rural revitalization strategy. China has embarked on a new journey toward fully building a modern socialist country.
