Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei Published a Signed Article in Malaysian Media on Poverty Alleviation in Ethnic Minority Areas

On June 24 and 25, 2021, Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei published a signed article titled “Realize the Hundred-Years’ Dream of Poverty Alleviation, No Single Ethnic Minority Group Left Behind” in Malaysian media Nanyang Siang Pau, introducing the successful experience of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in leading and uniting the people of all ethnic groups with concerted efforts to realize common prosperity and development, and accomplish building the moderately prosperous society in all respects.

The article uses detailed data to introduce the achievements of economic development in China’s ethnic minority areas and the notable progress made in poverty alleviation. According to the article, China’s experience of poverty alleviation shows that the complete victory in poverty alleviation in ethnic minority areas was because of the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, the systematic advantage of uniting the whole country as one, the strategy of targeted poverty alleviation, and the concerted efforts of the Chinese people of all ethnic groups.

The main experience of poverty alleviation in China’s ehnic minority areas include consistent supports to the ethnic minority areas and their people with preferential policies, collaboration on poverty alleviation between the eastern and western regions and paired-up assistance, categorized and targeted measures for the poverty alleviation in different regions, and the principle role played by ethnic minority areas.

The article pointed out that the successful practice and experience in eliminating extreme poverty in China and especially in the ethnic minority areas serve as reference to solve development issues for the multi-ethnic countries, and have also contributed Chinese wisdom and a Chinese approach to poverty alleviation in other countries.
