On July 25, 2021, Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei published a signed article titled “Facts Speak Louder Than Words, Rumors Find No Market Among the Fair-minded” in Malaysian media Sin Chew Daily, using figures and facts to introduce the population development and human rights protection in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, and refute false remarks made by the United States and other Western countries.

The article pointed out that the Uygur population in Xinjiang has a higher growth rate than the national average. The spoken and written languages of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang have been well protected to ensure that they are passed on to succeeding generations. Workers of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang enjoy free choice of employment and create better lives and build wealth by hard work. The freedom of religious belief of all ethnic groups is protected in Xinjiang in accordance with the law. Xinjiang has achieved success in fighting and eradicating terrorism, and the rights to life and property of the people have been fully protected.

The article enumerated the various human rights issues of the United States and other Western countries that proclaim themselves as “human rights lecturers”, and used facts to reveal that these Western countries are imposing double standards on human rights issues. The intention of these countries to spread various lies is to use Xinjiang to contain China and disrupt China’s development.

The article was concluded by welcoming friends from all countries to visit Xinjiang and learn about the real Xinjiang.
