On April 19, 2022, Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei met with Mr. Law Wei Pin, Northern Region Manager of China Press. They exchanged views on local cultural exchanges and media cooperation between China and Malaysia.

Consul General Mr. Lu Shiwei expressed his appreciation and gratitude to China Press for its report and support of the news and work of Chinese Consulate General in Penang for a long period. He said that Chinese-language newspapers are one of the “three pillars” of the Chinese community in Malaysia. As an influential mainstream Chinese-language media in Malaysia, China Press has kept making contributions to the enhancement of China-Malaysia friendship and the promotion of Chinese culture. It is hoped that the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and make more introductions about the development and achievements of China’s history, culture, economy, and society to the people of the consular district and Malaysia. 

Mr. Law Wei Pin introduced the recent situation of the newspaper, and expressed his willingness to strengthen cooperation with Chinese Consulate General in Penang to encourage more readers to understand China and the Chinese culture, and make contributions to the deepening of the friendship between the two peoples.
