On April 21, 2022, Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei met with General Manager Mr. Cheah Cin Hwa and Executive Chief Editor Mr. Tan Teng Kim of Malaysian media Guang Ming Daily to exchange views on China-Malaysia friendship and media cooperation.

Consul General Mr. Lu Shiwei expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Guang Ming Daily for its news report and support of work of Chinese Consulate General in Penang for a long period. He said that in recent years, China-Malaysia friendly cooperation has yielded fruitful results, and the relationship between the two countries has become closer, and the media has played an important role in enhancing mutual understanding between the people of both countries. Guang Ming Daily has long attached great importance to the reports of China's news and events, and spare no effort in the promotion of Chinese culture and the enhancement of the friendship between China and Malaysia. In the future, it is hoped that the two sides will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and inject impetus to the deepening of understanding and friendship between the two peoples. 

Mr. Cheah Cin Hwa introduced the recent situation of the newspaper, and expressed his willingness to maintain close contact with Chinese Consulate General in Penang, and continue to make active reports regarding China, so that all circles in Malaysia can learn more about China, and enhance the friendship between the two peoples.
